What started out as a week from hell turned into something quite unexpected and delightful. In part one, Julia, Jason, Frankie, and Eric dissect the RWE Pokal match with such surgical precision, you might miss it if you blink. In part two, we talk to VfB Stuttgart fan and footballer, Marc Maegerle (follow him on FB), about Bayer Leverkusen’s convincing victory over VfB – football like back in 2020! Enjoy the pod and have a happy start to your week.
The Crew are back and we’ve brought friends. RBL fan Erik Wilde joins us to discuss the battle of the corporations as Taurine overcame Aspirin on the weekend, leading to massive headaches for all Bayer fans. In part two, Jason, Eric, and Frankie discuss the recent transfers, including an in-depth look at Jeremie Frimpong thanks to Jason’s interview with Celtic fan, Kieran Polland. Settle back and enjoy!
*apologies for Eric’s audio – we tried to limit his time on mic due to the difficulty.
The theme. of episode 157 is clearly, stay positive! Frankie, Frieda, Eric, and Jason welcome Borussia Dortmund fan James Vickers to the pod to discuss the match from mid-week – a bright spot in what’s been a somewhat dismal 2021 thus far. The crew then have to turn their attention to the most recent match against VfL Wolfsburg, but they’re determined to put it behind them for the match of the week this Saturday. Hopefully, Bayer are, too.
Where to start? Is it the losing streak? Is it the predictability of our last four Bundesliga losses? Is it the concern that it only gets harder from here on out? Add to that a match against Union Berlin that ended in controversy, and you have a rather long podcast from the crew. Julia, Jason, Eric, and Frankie welcome Kyle from the Union in Englisch lads to discuss the gut punch that was Friday and the fallout from the allegations of racism at the end of the match. We turn to some happier news in part two and look back at the Pokal match against Frankfurt and Bayer’s newest addition, Timothy Fosu-Mensah. Strap in.
Jason, Eric and Frankie are back with special guest Nik Wildhagen to discuss last weekend’s match against Werder Bremen and to look ahead at some of the fixtures coming Bayer’s way, including the Pokal match against Frankfurt on Tuesday. We are about to enter a critical period in Bayer’s season…hold on to your asses, think positive, and enjoy the pod!
It wasn’t the best start to the Rueckrunde, but the Neverkusen Podcast tries to put things into perspective after Leverkusen’s 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. Jason, Frankie, and Eric welcome our newest caster of pods, Julia, who helps us dissect the match and discuss Peter Bosz’s recent interview on German television. There’s a lot to be hopeful about for Bayer fans in 2021, and we’re looking forward to having a lot to cheer for this year. Auf geht’s Bayer!
Hi, what’d we miss? Everybody good? No? Well, this might not make you feel any better, but the Neverkusen Podcast returns with two new contributors from England, Jason and Frankie. We were able to record this podcast just before the Brexit transition period ended, so you can only enjoy their voices until December 31. Patrick and Eric join the lads to take a look back at a helluva (almost) half season that sees Bayer in an accustomed position in the table – it’s almost like they knew we would be podding. We dive into the matches and players that have made the first half of the season such a success and pour a little salt in effzeh’s wounds…because why not? Thanks for listening!
It’s a happy day when @Kristaldo1907 can join us to talk Bayer/Augsburg, especially when Bayer score three goals :-). We focus on the match at the weekend, and totally blow by the upcoming CL match against Juve (because, scary). This podcast may contain the sounds of future Bayer Leverkusen fans (SFW).
We’re back! Only three games into the season #lazy. We’re joined (for the second pod in a row!) by Ryan to talk about Bayer’s match against Hoffenheim. Not the best result, but maybe not the worst…whatever the hell that means. This pod came out about a week later than intended, but enjoy it before the next match!
Coming at you with a short but loaded podcast to discuss two of Bayer Leverkusen’s most recent signings, Kerem Demirbay and Nadiem Amiri. Lots of excitement around both of these former Hoffenheim players, one the most expensive signing, the other a steal at any price! Ryan, a loyal fan of the Sinsheim team, talks to Eric about what Bayer Leverkusen can expect from their new additions. Have a beer and have a listen.
